Just for fun, I am currently animating the koopalings based off their return in last year's "New Super Mario Bros Wii". I love that their shell color is now distinguished from one another.
First up is Larry Koopa. Larry usually likes to reside in the grassy plains of the Mushroom Kingdom. Despite bearing a new star birth mark on his head, the little guy is still the easiest koopaling to defeat. But you gotta admire the kid's spunk, and trademark blue mohawk.
I got six more of these little brats to work on, so sit tight.
Coming Soon: ROY KOOPA!
UPDATE: I added voices and SFX cuz, well, some of the others will require it. Special thanks to theo402 for the suggestion
This, simply put, is amazing. I didn’t expect it to be animated when I first clicked it. The movement is incredibly fluent. This piece is a great example of what whacky animation should be – exaggerated poses and expressions that look nothing alike but are perfectly melded together with beautifully done transition frames. Every frame is bursting with personality. I always appreciate people who can make fan art look like their own, and this is wonderfully customized to your splendid style. You’ve displayed Larry with more personality than Nintendo ever has. Although others might argue that the background is too simple, I find the background to work perfectly with this. It lets the viewer focus on the main attraction – a display of your excellent character animation. If you do not already do animation jobs, I recommend you look into it, because you are a natural. There’s definitely a future for you in the field. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece, and can’t wait to see the rest of your Koopaling cycles. I also would love to see you animate like this with your original characters and creations. Excellent, zany style – very John Krikfalusi.
